The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) requires that employers post a notice informing workers of their rights to form unions under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA).

The notices must be posted by Nov. 14, 2011. They must include information on employees’ rights to participate in unions, bargain collectively or not to participate in union activities. The NLRB will post the notice on its website by Nov. 1, 2011.

Employers who are covered under the NLRA must comply with the new posting law. That includes most employers, except public employers, railway and airline employers, and agricultural employees, according to Constangy Brooks & Smith LLP.
