OSHA Electrical Standard Updates for 2007 – What Your Company Needs to Do to Stay Compliant
|
In February of this year OSHA announced the adoption of Part 1 of the NFPA 70E 200 edition in August 2007. Much of OSHA's electrical safety regulations have been adopted from NFPA 70E over time, but this is the first time OSHA has formally adopted updated editions of 70E in the past 20 years. This section to be adopted covers Installation Safety Requirements which are in large part a truncated version of the National Electrical Code.
What does this mean for the industry? Many believe, and OSHA has indicated, that they will be adopting more and more of 70E as the OSHA regulations come due for updates. Currently all of the industry should be using all of 70E as a how to comply guide to supplement the vague OSHA electrical safety regulations. This new OSHA regulation will be easy for some industries and more challenging for others, but everyone must comply with the new rules.
Join us for a 2-hour audio conference as we address your questions specific to the adoption of this new rule.
