Future HR Leaders Drive Industry Changes

Human Capital is honored to present the 2005 Future HR Leaders. This group embodies an impressive amalgam of talent in the HR field and beyond. While making their mark on their companies, they are helping to shape the future of the entire industry. We thank those senior HR professionals who nominated this impressive group and we thank our review panel for their insight. The awards will be presented at the SHRM conference in June 2005.

Kevin Antler, Senior VP,
KnowledgeBank Inc.

Antler's work focuses on today's changing model of HR service delivery, including HR management outsourcing and interim consulting services to commercial, nonprofit and government organizations. He is a member of SHRM, and is a past board member of the Northern Virginia Chapter of SHRM. Antler is also a founding member and current board member of the HR Leadership Awards of Greater Washington.

Chris Bartholomew, CIO,
iCIMS Inc.

Since graduating from Cornell in 2002, Bartholomew has been a leader in developing and expanding the role of Web-based hiring management solutions in the recruitment industry. At iCIMs, he developed iRecruiter Corporate & Enterprise hiring management systems, ranked as the industry's number one applicant tracking solution by ERExchange.

Sheri L. Campbell, Corporate HR Generalist,
ComSonics Inc.

A certified Professional in Human Resources, Campbell has contributed to the HR profession, her community and her company. She championed efforts to connect volunteer HR talent to non-profit agencies, and is President of the Shenandoah Valley Chapter of the SHRM. Her initiatives in online testing, group test administration and course development for the nation's largest cable television equipment repair business have resulted in zero turnover on the manufacturing floor.

Chris Carlson, Education Manager,
Revcor

A certified Professional in Human Resources, Carlson has spearheaded improvements in training, performance recognition, coaching and safety. His efforts in education and training led to company-wide acceptance of Revcor's Human Capital Management Application, and his leadership in safety resulted in a 75 percent decrease in accidents.

David Carpe, Principal and Founder,
Clew, LLC

Carpe is recognized as the earliest pioneer of advanced human capital research.  He was the first to specialize in competitive intelligence for strategic HR, and has worked with talent-hungry organizations such as Microsoft and McKinsey. Carpe is a founding member of the Human Capital Institute.

Richard T. Cober, Ph.D., Associate,
Booz Allen Hamilton

Cober has demonstrated his expertise in crafting real-world solutions for human capital issues in both the commercial and public sectors. His accomplishments include development of a senior executive performance management system and a competency-based HR system. An expert in online job-seeker behavior, his scholarship has been published in various publications.

Colin Day, President and CEO,
iCIMS Inc.

Day is a leader in spearheading easy-to-use information technology to streamline recruiting and HR operations. His "Back to the Basics" approach shifts the technology emphasis back to making the daily jobs of recruiters and HR managers easier and more efficient. Day has worked with leading organizations, where the implementation of iCIMs systems has led to tangible ROI.

H. Martin de'Campo, Managing Principal,
Humanatek.com Inc.

De'Campo is a leader in recruitment business process outsourcing and achieving ROI and benchmark results in mass staffing situations. He developed the MARS (Multidisciplinary Advanced Rapid Staffing) process that integrates benchmark best-practices and technologies into a single quality assured recruiting system.

Brian L. Delphia, President,
Delphia Consulting LLC

Delphia's vision has helped drive the development of award winning technology solutions that help companies streamline HR processes. His company created HR Actions software for creating and managing paperless employee change forms. A Certified Public Accountant, Delphia is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, SHRM, and the Human Resources Association of Central Ohio (HRACO).

Michele N. Easterday, Training/Recruiting Coordinator,
Life Rinker Materials People Development Team

Easterday has been instrumental in preparing her company prepare for future labor shortages by spearheading reward and recognition programs nationwide. Her leadership has paved the way for encouraging Rinker divisions to participate in a centralized, company-wide platform that reflects core company values.

Keven G. Haggerty, HR Manager,
CRV Electronics Corp.

Haggerty developed an award-winning benefit strategy plan that held healthcare cost increases to only 2.5 percent over the previous year. As past president of the Stateline Chapter of SHRM, he revitalized the organization and developed its first strategic plan. A member of SHRM and World at Work, he serves on the Workforce Development Committee of the McHenry County Economic Development Corp.

Joy Kautzer, HR Assistant,
Lakeside Foods

Kautzer recently led her company to revamp its Service Anniversary Award with the goal of reflecting the diversity of the Lakeside employee base. She has also investigated the tax implications of the company's gift certificate awards, leading Lakeside to support and implement a successful reward and recognition program and increased employee performance.

Rod Lacey, VP of HR,
Melaleuca Inc.

Lacey leads his company's HR staff and directs the efforts of 2,200 employees at Melaleuca. He developed Melaleuca's Koala Kids Academy, southeast Idaho's first corporate childcare facility, and he is in the process of developing a corporate fitness facility. Lacey also has developed successful HR strategies that have reduced workers' compensation claims and healthcare benefit costs.

Pam Mencer, HR Manager,
Life Therapeutics

Mencer has been the driving force behind a plan to motivate Life Therapeutics employees to reach ambitious targets during an important five-year growth phase. She led the creation and implementation of the company's first reward and recognition program and, launched the Life Therapeutics' Years-of-Service program.

Chairman of Teten Recruiting

A graduate of Harvard Business School, Teten is an entrepreneur whose businesses leverage online networks to assist in recruitment and transition. Teten is a pioneer in using the Internet and software tools, to assist in recruiting. His popular blog on career advancement has helped many people during the difficult process of finding a new career opportunity.

Timothy J. Tobin, Associate,
Booz Allen Hamilton

Tobin holds a master's degree in organizational management and a doctorate in HR Development, and is recognized as a leader in assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating HR programs and policies on an organizational level. His recent accomplishments include developing innovative strategies for recruiting, hiring and training 2,000 new professionals in 18 months at cost savings of more than $4 million.

Dan Tyler, HR Leader, Latin American Territory,
Trane Commercial Systems

Tyler has been a leader in designing and implementing salary planning practices, compensation plans, and talent development programs that reward performance while providing economic stability. As HR Manager for The Pepsi Bottling Group in Central and South Texas, he spearheaded recognition programs at all levels. A winner of the Taco Bell Way Award, Tyler is a member of the SHRM.

Keith L. Vencel, HR & Faculty Practioner,
University of Phoenix

Vencel is a leader in assessing and implementing HR information technology and employment redesign and an expert in IT recruiting. He was recipient of the 2002 Employee of the Year award from Equal Opportunity Publications, and is Area Chair and Senior Faculty Member in Organizational Behavior and Development for the University of Phoenix.

Hal Adler, is a consultant with the Great Place to Work Institute, a global research and consulting firm. The institute works with FORTUNE magazine and other leading publications to publish the "Best Companies to Work For" list.

Lynn A. Barsnick, is chief people officer for Interaction Associates Inc. Previously, she was the Director of HR and one of 10 senior managers for a Global Distributor of Data Communication products. Barsnick is an HR and training professional with diversified experience in the various HR disciplines.
