What Should You Look for in HR Software?

HR technology managers and HR decision-makers weighed in on what is most important in HR software in the HRIS/HCM Requirements Report. The report comes from CompareHRIS.com, an HR Software Research Center that aims to connect HR professionals with HRIS systems and HRMS vendors offering software that most closely matches their requirements. The HRIS/HCM Research Report reveals the connection between company size and what buyers feel is most important.

“Today’s HRIS products are both comprehensive and versatile and can broaden the scope and abilities of HR, justifying their expense,” says Carolyn Sokol of compareHRIS. “Our report helps identify exactly what ‘bells and whistles’ HR decisions makers should consider in their upcoming purchase.”

Used as the foundation for the report, the HRIS Selector Tool asked a series of questions about HR system requirements and the importance of each. The results compile the answers of just under 1,800 HR professionals of all company sizes who were considering new HR technology in 2012.

Among other findings, a sampling of the report revealed that on average most companies want employee self service capabilities, competency based employee development and email alerts.
