What Supervisors Should Know About Liability & Workplace Accidents

The ground rules are changing when it comes to supervisor liability and workplace accidents. Courts and OSHA enforcement personnel are taking a closer look at who is to blame and what should have been done to prevent an accident before it occurred.

Nationally renowned safety expert Adele L. Abrams, Esq. CMSP, will explain what supervisors need to do to effectively manage workplace safety and incident control in a way that will reduce personal and corporate liability. This one-hour program will cover:

  • Why personal penalties and criminal enforcement against supervisors and management agents is on the rise.
  • Why inappropriate disclosure of information early in an investigation can prejudice OSHA/MSHA enforcement defense, tort and worker’s compensation liability litigation.
  • Why supervisors are often the injured parties in serious workplace accidents.
  • How to minimize risk and improve the safety culture through mentoring of workers and use of Job Safety Analysis.
  • How to effectively document discipline, training and regulatory compliance.
  • What should and should not be done in dealing with government officials at all levels during crisis situations.
